Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical writing expertise for the development of scientific manuscripts and knowledge products based on Behavioural and Social Drivers (BeSD) study findings and related programme evidence. The consultant will work closely with the team to draft, develop, and submit these manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals. This role is crucial for translating complex research data into accessible, policy-relevant outputs that support UNICEF's knowledge translation objectives and contribute to global immunization policy and programming.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for reviewing and synthesizing available study materials, datasets, reports, and background documents from eight BeSD country studies. They will develop structured outlines for each manuscript, including framing, research questions, and key messages. A core responsibility is drafting eight country-specific manuscripts and one synthesising manuscript that consolidates cross-country findings. The consultant will conduct targeted literature reviews, develop figures, tables, and visualisations, and incorporate feedback from UNICEF, partners, and co-authors. They will also support manuscript submission to peer-reviewed journals and respond to peer reviewer comments through to publication, ensuring all outputs are accessible and policy-relevant.
Work Experience
Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant professional experience in scientific writing, research translation, or knowledge management in global health.
