Job Purpose
The internship program at the UNICEF DRC office aims to support the strengthening of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) system within the Social Policy section. The intern will contribute to data management, program performance monitoring, and the production of evidence-based programming analyses, providing a valuable learning experience. This role is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness and impact of UNICEF's social policy initiatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo, ensuring that programs are data-driven and responsive to the needs of children.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Specialist, the intern will be responsible for executing assigned tasks professionally, rigorously, and within deadlines. This includes adhering to UNICEF's policies, procedures, and ethical standards, particularly concerning data confidentiality and protection. The intern will maintain regular communication with the supervisor regarding the progress of activities and any encountered constraints. Active participation in relevant meetings and learning opportunities is expected. Specific tasks may involve supporting data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization, contributing to the development of M&E frameworks, and assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations. The intern will also be involved in tracking program indicators and supporting the overall M&E framework of the Social Policy section.
Work Experience
Good experience in program monitoring and evaluation. Experience in statistical data processing, particularly household surveys (MICS, DHS, ECVM, etc.) using software like SPSS, SAS, etc. is desirable. Basic knowledge of infographic design is a plus.
