Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to work with the SBC team to support UNICEF country offices and national partners in strengthening the generation, interpretation and use of evidence, particularly through implementation research and other fit-for-purpose behavioural insight approaches to improve the design, delivery, adaptation and institutionalization of people-centred, behaviourally informed interventions for immunization and related public health priorities. The consultant will ensure that evidence is translated into practical programme improvements, adaptive implementation decisions, and stronger national capacity to design, test, refine and monitor SBC interventions. Where relevant, the consultant will also provide technical guidance on the establishment or strengthening of behavioural insights (BI) units, including their functions, workflows, and use of evidence for decision-making.
Responsibilities
The consultant will support the following areas of work based in the Panama Centre of Excellence (CoE): - Inception, country scoping and prioritization - Intervention design and testing (1 country) - Intervention review and optimization (3-4 countries) - Capacity strengthening, institutionalization - Final report This role requires strong expertise in the design and application of implementation research and other evidence generation approaches to inform programme improvement. The consultant will be responsible for ensuring that evidence is translated into practical programme improvements, adaptive implementation decisions, and stronger national capacity to design, test, refine and monitor SBC interventions. Additionally, the consultant will provide technical guidance on the establishment or strengthening of behavioural insights (BI) units, including their functions, workflows, and use of evidence for decision-making.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in implementation research, behavioural science, public health, or related fields. Strong expertise in the design and application of implementation research and other evidence generation approaches to inform programme improvement.
