Job Purpose

UNICEF's Digital Education and Learning Innovation Hub-Education CoE is seeking an experienced Digital Learning and AI Literacy Expert. This role will provide high-quality technical assistance, advisory, and coordination support to the implementation of the Hub’s Learning Pioneers Programme. The expert will offer expert advice to UNICEF Country Offices and their government partners on scaling and integrating digital learning tools and upskilling on digital transformation. This includes strengthening national capacities for digital transformation, focusing on teacher empowerment, AI literacy, and future-ready skills development. The consultant will also provide technical support for implementing and integrating digital skills and AI literacy in national education systems, ensuring alignment with the UNICEF Digital Education Strategy 2025–2030 and EdTech for Good principles.

Responsibilities

The Digital Learning and AI Literacy Expert will bring strong theoretical and practical knowledge on integrating technology into teaching-learning, along with best practices for supporting UNICEF Country Offices and Ministries of Education in delivering impactful digital education programming. The role will accelerate improvements in student learning outcomes, particularly for the most vulnerable children. The consultant will provide technical support to the implementation and integration of digital skills and AI literacy in national education systems through initiatives like UNICEF’s Tinkering with Tech and AI. The consultant will also support teacher empowerment in the digital age and help provide quality technical assistance support to countries in line with the UNICEF Digital Education Strategy. This involves advising on the scaling and systems integration of digital learning tools and upskilling on digital transformation, strengthening national capacities for digital transformation, with a particular focus on teacher empowerment, AI literacy, and future-ready skills development.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in digital learning, educational technology, AI literacy, or a related field. Experience working with governments and international organizations on education reform is highly desirable.
