Job Purpose
The internship aims to provide practical experience in communication and advocacy for two National Interns. The interns will support UNICEF Laos' social and digital platforms through multimedia production, assist in monitoring press coverage, and compile media updates. They will also help translate communication assets, manage the photo and video library, and organize visibility materials. Furthermore, the interns will provide logistical support for communication activities and events, including vendor coordination and on-site assistance. This role involves participating in team meetings and contributing to communication strategy development, offering a comprehensive learning experience in a UN context.
Responsibilities
Support the production of multimedia content for UNICEF Laos’ social and digital platforms, including graphics, short videos, and other engaging materials. Assist in monitoring and analyzing media coverage related to UNICEF's work in Lao PDR, compiling comprehensive web and press clippings and relevant links for daily distribution. Help in the translation of various communication assets, such as press releases, social media posts, and other public-facing documents, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness. Manage and meticulously organize the photo and video library, ensuring all materials are properly catalogued, tagged, and easily accessible for diverse communication needs. Provide essential logistical support for communication activities and events, which includes coordinating bookings, managing schedules, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Support the planning and execution of communication events, assisting with vendor coordination, preparing event materials, and providing on-site logistical support. Assist with the management and distribution of UNICEF's visibility materials to relevant partners and stakeholders. Actively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and insights to the development of communication strategies and action plans. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to effectively support the communications team's objectives.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is required, but prior experience in communication, media, or advocacy is an asset.
