Job Purpose
The Health & Nutrition Officer provides professional technical assistance and support for the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of health and nutrition programs. This role involves data analysis, progress reporting, capacity building, and ensuring alignment with program goals and strategies. The officer will contribute to situation analysis, develop integrated strategies with partners, manage work plans, enhance project efficiency, and ensure transparency in fund disbursement. Maintaining effective partnerships and preparing for and responding to emergencies are also key aspects of this position, all in support of achieving the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate information, data analysis, and documentation to support situation analysis, sectoral input, and reporting. Offer technical assistance for the development and implementation of integrated Health & Nutrition strategies and approaches through collaboration with internal and external partners. Establish and plan work plan objectives, ensuring timely delivery of results through technical support and coordination. Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through diligent implementation follow-up and monitoring for program delivery and sustainability. Ensure transparency for supply and non-supply assistance and the disbursement of programme funds for Health & Nutrition. Maintain effective partnerships and working relationships for advocacy, technical coordination, information sharing, and knowledge networking. Keep up-to-date programme information available and prepare and share reports with relevant stakeholders. Maintain emergency preparedness and provide effective emergency responses with coordination in line with the Core Commitments for Children (CCCs) in Humanitarian Action.
Work Experience
Minimum two years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation monitoring, and evaluation of health programs. Experience in a program management function or technical expert capacity in child survival & health care. Field work experience and familiarity with emergency contexts are required.
