Job Purpose
The Office of Strategy & Evidence (OSE) - Innocenti provides leadership across UNICEF, focusing on data, research, evidence generation, foresight, and knowledge management. It assures development effectiveness through strategic planning, monitoring, and results & risk management. By integrating data, research, and foresight with programme effectiveness, OSE informs and strengthens progress towards SDGs and the Strategic Plan’s results for children at the country level. It contributes to thought leadership and helps anticipate emerging challenges, ensuring Country Programmes are informed and respond to national priorities for children in various contexts, including humanitarian situations.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director (Programme Effectiveness), and with a dotted line to the Deputy Director (Chief Statistician), the Executive Assistant is accountable for providing comprehensive communications, operations, and administrative support services to enhance the smooth running of the supervisor’s day-to-day activities. This includes managing schedules, coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence, and handling travel arrangements. The Executive Assistant will also represent the supervisor in initiating, following up on, and resolving issues pertaining to administrative requests, ensuring timely and efficient resolution. This role requires proactive engagement in managing information flow, maintaining records, and supporting the overall operational efficiency of the office. The incumbent will be expected to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, contributing to the effective functioning of the Office of Strategy & Evidence.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience is required.
