Job Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to strengthen UNICEF’s data systems and analytical capacity. This includes supporting engagement with and assistance to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) during ongoing survey analysis and reporting. The consultant will be responsible for consolidating child-related indicators into a centralized and well-structured repository. Additionally, the role involves developing automated, user-friendly dashboards and consolidating key situation analyses for children. The ultimate goal is to improve access to data and evidence for both internal and external stakeholders, enabling better-informed decision-making and programming for children.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for strengthening UNICEF’s data systems and analytical capacity in Kenya. This involves providing support to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) in their ongoing survey analysis and reporting efforts. A key task will be to consolidate child-related indicators into a centralized and well-structured data repository. The consultant will also develop automated, user-friendly dashboards to visualize key data points and trends. Furthermore, the role requires consolidating key situation analyses for children, ensuring that critical information is accessible and actionable. The objective is to enhance the availability and usability of data and evidence for both UNICEF internal teams and external partners, thereby improving evidence-based programming and advocacy for children’s rights and well-being.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in data management and analytics, including digital data systems development, is required. Experience with data repositories, supporting national statistical offices, and evidence synthesis is also necessary.
