Job Purpose
The consultant will be responsible for developing training modules for Child Protection Committees (CPEs) in Burundi. This role is crucial for strengthening the national child protection system, which aims to reduce violence against children and support victims. The training materials will be based on updated harmonized tools and a national strategy for CPE reinforcement. The consultant's work will contribute to the progressive training of all CPEs across Burundi by certified trainers, ensuring a standardized and effective approach to child protection at the community level. This consultancy is a remote position, open only to Burundi nationals.
Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive training modules for Child Protection Committees (CPEs) based on the national strategy and updated harmonized tools. Ensure the training content is aligned with international and regional commitments on child rights. Create engaging and accessible learning materials, including guides and pocketbooks, suitable for community-level trainers and committee members. Collaborate with the Directorate of Child Protection of the Ministry of Justice, Human Rights and Gender to ensure accuracy and relevance of the training content. Support the development of a training curriculum that addresses various forms of child vulnerability, including violence, abuse, and economic/sexual exploitation. Contribute to the overall objective of strengthening the community-based child protection system in Burundi. Ensure the training materials are practical and can be effectively delivered by the national pool of trainers. Review and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine the training modules. The consultant will work remotely, contributing to the ongoing efforts to enhance child protection mechanisms across the country.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in child protection, community development, or education, preferably within the context of Burundi or similar developing countries. Experience in designing and delivering training programs for community-based organizations.
