Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Chief of Child Protection, the incumbent contributes to the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of child protection programs in Togo, with a specific focus on community engagement and the prevention of harmful traditional practices. The role ensures the integration of innovative approaches and monitoring-evaluation mechanisms to achieve measurable and sustainable results. This position is crucial for advancing child protection strategies, ensuring that interventions are evidence-based, community-driven, and aligned with UNICEF's global mission to uphold the rights of every child. The goal is to foster a protective environment for children and empower communities to safeguard their well-being.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and planning of child protection programs, including data collection and analysis on community engagement and prevention of harmful traditional practices. Ensure data quality for measuring project progress and results. Provide technical and administrative support throughout program processes, managing transactions, preparing materials, and adhering to organizational procedures for results-based management and monitoring-evaluation. Develop and implement a monitoring-evaluation plan for community engagement and harmful practices prevention, including data collection tools and reporting. Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, program reviews, and sector evaluations, focusing on relevant indicators. Produce analytical reports on progress, challenges, and recommendations. Prepare draft contributions for program/donor reports. Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts, NGOs, UN partners, and other stakeholders on UNICEF policies, strategies, and best practices in child protection. Train and mentor partners on monitoring-evaluation tools and methodologies. Verify and validate field data for reliability. Conduct field visits and share information with stakeholders to assess progress and report critical issues. Collaborate with national and international actors to harmonize monitoring-evaluation indicators and approaches. Contribute to evidence generation for advocacy and resource mobilization. Research potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of professional experience in child protection, social development, or a related field. Experience in program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is essential. Experience working with communities and local partners is desirable.
