Job Purpose
The Fundraising Associate (Acquisition) plays a crucial support role within the Individual Giving Acquisition unit, directly contributing to UNICEF's strategy to expand its donor base and foster sustainable private sector growth. Aligned with the PSFR team's focus on funnel-based marketing, segmentation, and audience-centric approaches, the Associate will assist in executing targeted acquisition campaigns. This involves conducting market research, supporting lead generation efforts, and coordinating with external agencies to ensure acquisition initiatives are well-informed, efficiently managed, and responsive to evolving donor behaviors. By facilitating the smooth execution of campaign planning and operational tasks, this role supports the broader team's objectives of increasing donations, enhancing engagement, and achieving the strategic ambitions outlined in the 2026–2030 framework, ultimately enabling UNICEF to continue its vital work for children.
Responsibilities
The Fundraising Associate (Acquisition) will support the development and execution of multi-channel strategies to acquire new donors, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mission and goals. This includes planning and executing donor acquisition campaigns designed to engage potential donors effectively and implementing testing plans to gather insights and optimize campaign performance. The role involves monitoring campaign performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets, as well as tracking campaign budgets, including media spend. Researching and identifying potential target audiences to expand UNICEF's donor base is also a key function. Furthermore, the Associate will facilitate collaboration across teams, aligning donor acquisition efforts with broader marketing strategies, including brand and retention initiatives. This includes contributing to the management of relationships and projects with external agencies, such as creative and fundraising partners, and supporting the development of investment plans and business cases as required. The incumbent is accountable for applying specialized administrative and operational rules and procedures to coordinate support for the PSFR team, ensuring efficient service provision so that professional staff can focus on substantive work. External contacts may involve counterparts in international organizations, institutions, and national governments to organize activities, and communications will involve exchanging information across UNICEF and externally.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of relevant work experience in supporting marketing campaigns, fundraising, or sales activities with financial targets is required. A bachelor’s degree may replace three years of experience, and a master’s degree may replace an additional two years.
