The Senior Adviser, Education (Digital Education Implementation) will play a crucial role in operationalizing UNICEF’s Digital Education Strategy, guiding efforts to empower teachers and enhance digital transformation in education. This position is central to achieving Impact 2 of the Strategic Plan, aiming to ensure millions more children and young people acquire learning proficiencies and skills for work and life by 2029, leveraging digital innovation.
Responsibilities
The Senior Adviser, Education (Digital Education Implementation) will provide strategic and technical leadership on the operationalization of UNICEF’s Digital Education Strategy. This includes guiding UNICEF’s work to empower teachers and school leaders in the safe and impactful use of digital tools. The role involves supporting governments in developing inclusive and sustainable digital education strategies and policies, and enhancing education programming and system-wide strengthening. The adviser will facilitate learning for children across diverse contexts and country typologies, ensuring that UNICEF’s support is grounded in practical knowledge and contributes to global policy standards. They will also contribute to the design and implementation of scalable digital education solutions, linking global policy with on-the-ground action to deliver results for children at scale. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to advance child rights to education and leverage partnerships for resource mobilization.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight years of professional experience in education, with a significant focus on digital education, policy development, and programme implementation. Experience working in developing countries and with international organizations is desirable.
