Job Purpose
The PSP Fundraising Intern (Donor Care & Development) will support UNHCR's Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) service in enhancing donor engagement and development strategies. This role involves assisting in the implementation of initiatives aimed at cultivating stronger relationships with individual donors and partners, thereby increasing support for UNHCR's operations. The intern will contribute to donor stewardship activities, helping to ensure that donors feel valued and informed about the impact of their contributions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in fundraising, donor relations, and the humanitarian sector, while directly contributing to the vital work of protecting refugees and finding solutions for their plight.
Responsibilities
The PSP Fundraising Intern will be instrumental in supporting the Donor Care & Development team. Key responsibilities include assisting in the execution of donor communication plans, which may involve drafting thank-you letters, impact reports, and other engagement materials tailored to different donor segments. The intern will help manage and update donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of interactions and contributions. A significant part of the role will involve researching potential individual donors and corporate partners to identify new fundraising opportunities. The intern will also support the planning and implementation of small-scale fundraising events or campaigns, contributing to their logistical and administrative aspects. Furthermore, the intern will assist in monitoring and analyzing donor feedback and engagement metrics to inform future strategies. This role requires close collaboration with various internal teams to ensure a cohesive approach to donor relations and fundraising efforts, ultimately aiming to strengthen UNHCR's financial sustainability and operational capacity.
Work Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in a non-profit, fundraising, or communications role is advantageous. Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems is a plus.
