Job Purpose

The position also involves supporting risk management by identifying and reporting potential issues to the supervisor, ensuring compliance with all relevant rules and procedures, especially in the event of an accident.
Responsibilities
The Driver is responsible for operating UNHCR vehicles to transport authorized personnel, deliver and collect documents, and move other items as directed. A key duty is to meet official personnel at airports and other locations, assisting them with immigration and customs formalities. The incumbent must perform daily checks on the assigned vehicle(s), including oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires, to ensure they are safe and meet established security standards. Minor repairs and maintenance are expected, along with keeping the vehicle clean. In case of an accident, the Driver must follow all required procedures and regulations. Accurate record-keeping of official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities is essential. Strict compliance with instructions and security guidance from the supervisor and security focal point is mandatory. The Driver must also ensure that all necessary documentation for passengers, items, or cargo within the vehicle is valid. Furthermore, the role includes supporting the identification and management of risks and opportunities that may impact the area of responsibility, and reporting any risks, issues, or concerns to the supervisor.
