Organizational Context
The Senior Reporting Assistant will support the Reporting Officer or a more senior local staff member in managing internal and external reporting requests. This role involves extensive interaction with internal UNHCR colleagues, external partners, and stakeholders to gather information and monitor programme activities within the office's operational context.
Job Purpose
The Senior Reporting Assistant is responsible for fulfilling internal and external reporting requirements, working under the supervision of the Reporting Officer or a senior local staff member. This role necessitates proactive engagement with various stakeholders, including UNHCR personnel, partners, and other entities, to gather essential information and closely monitor the progress of programme activities. The incumbent will play a crucial part in ensuring timely and accurate reporting, contributing to the overall effectiveness of UNHCR's operations by providing necessary data and insights for decision-making and communication with donors and the public.
Responsibilities
The Senior Reporting Assistant is tasked with staying informed about operational developments and assisting in the preparation of briefing notes and reports. This includes consolidating data and facilitating the creation of periodic reports such as Sitreps and Fact Sheets, as well as supporting preparations for media interviews and background briefings. The role involves regularly updating information tracking systems and adhering to electronic filing standards. Administrative support for routine unit services and activities is also a key responsibility. The incumbent will accompany foreign delegations and media on visits to refugee sites, providing briefings, interpretation, and commentary. Collaboration with colleagues is essential for accurate data presentation. The role includes preparing and distributing meeting minutes promptly and consolidating inputs for donor reports. Additionally, the Senior Reporting Assistant will support risk identification and management, seizing opportunities that align with objectives, and ensuring risk-based decision-making within their functional area, escalating concerns as needed.
Work Experience
2 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 1 year of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
