UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is responsible for leading and coordinating international action to protect and assist refugees. The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) Service aims to mobilize resources from the private sector. The Individual Giving (IG) unit focuses on securing support from the general public through regular donations, cash appeals, and legacies, aiming to grow the donor base and foster donor loyalty.
Job Purpose
The Private Sector Partnerships Individual Giving Associate plays a crucial role in maximizing UNHCR's donor base from individual giving, targeting individuals capable of donating between $1 to $10,000 annually. This role contributes to the IG team's development by providing leadership and technical expertise to ensure optimal team performance. The Associate is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and development, managing donor communications and services to ensure a high-quality donor experience. This includes working with marketing agencies, implementing various fundraising campaigns across multiple channels, and contributing to funding submissions. The ultimate goal is to enhance UNHCR's financial support from individuals, thereby enabling the organization to better protect and assist persons of concern.
Responsibilities
The Individual Giving Associate is responsible for assisting in the development of annual plans for donor acquisition, retention, and development, including forecasting costs, expenses, income, and donor figures. They will manage and improve donor servicing and communications to provide best-in-class donor care, handling welcome communications, newsletters, emails, and calls. The role involves collaborating with marketing agencies on contact strategies and donor journeys across channels like telemarketing, digital, and direct mail. Key duties include implementing campaigns for upgrades, conversions, acquisition, loyalty, and donor retention. The Associate will also contribute to funding submissions for IG programs and assist in managing middle-value donors and prospects. Supervision of donor database management, ensuring data accuracy and providing analysis, is also a core responsibility. For Face-to-Face fundraising, responsibilities include managing activities, developing and implementing strategies, managing budgets and financial targets, overseeing supplier relationships, diversifying fundraising models, and developing data monitoring for performance analysis. This also involves creating guidelines, adapting creative content, managing location strategies, and ensuring the proper induction and training of the Face-to-Face team. For Digital, DRTV, and Multichannel fundraising, the Associate will assist in designing and executing digital strategies and action plans, managing external supplier relationships, executing online content, and implementing digital marketing initiatives. They will also work on improving online donation pages, executing and reviewing lead generation programs, and promoting innovative recruitment and retention methods via digital channels. Cold Mailing responsibilities include assisting in developing test plan strategies, scheduling production processes, coordinating with suppliers, supervising donor data extraction, checking printing files, developing campaign reporting systems, and negotiating with suppliers to optimize production costs.
