Job Purpose
The Private Partnerships & Philanthropy Intern will support UNHCR's engagement with private sector entities and philanthropic foundations. This role involves assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to foster and strengthen partnerships, with a focus on mobilizing resources and support for refugees. The intern will contribute to research, communication, and administrative tasks necessary for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. The position aims to provide valuable experience in humanitarian diplomacy, fundraising, and partnership management within a leading international organization, enabling the intern to gain practical insights into the complexities of humanitarian work and the critical role of private sector engagement in achieving UNHCR's mandate.
Responsibilities
Assist in identifying and researching potential private sector partners and philanthropic foundations aligned with UNHCR's strategic objectives. Support the team in developing and executing engagement strategies, including outreach, cultivation, and stewardship activities. Contribute to the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports for donors and partners. Help manage and update databases of contacts and partnership information. Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, events, and other partnership-related activities. Conduct research on relevant trends in philanthropy and corporate social responsibility. Assist in monitoring and evaluating the impact of partnership initiatives. Draft communications materials, such as newsletters, social media content, and thank-you letters. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of partnership efforts with broader organizational goals. Support the team in tracking and reporting on partnership activities and outcomes. Contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative working environment within the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy unit.
Work Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in a relevant field is an asset, but not required. Demonstrated interest in humanitarian affairs, international development, or fundraising.
