Job Purpose
The Database Intern will support the UNHCR Brazil office in managing and maintaining its databases. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of critical data related to refugees and asylum-seekers in Brazil. The intern will assist in data entry, data cleaning, and the generation of reports, contributing directly to the operational efficiency and programmatic effectiveness of UNHCR's work in the region. Responsibilities
The Database Intern will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the UNHCR Brazil database. This includes performing regular data entry tasks, ensuring all new information is accurately recorded in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. A key responsibility will be data cleaning and validation, identifying and correcting errors, inconsistencies, or duplications to maintain high data quality. The intern will also support the generation of standard and ad-hoc reports, extracting relevant data for programmatic and operational needs. This may involve assisting in the preparation of statistical summaries and visualizations. Furthermore, the intern will contribute to the organization and maintenance of database records, ensuring proper filing and accessibility of information. They will also provide support in updating database documentation and user guides as needed. Collaboration with other team members to ensure data consistency across different systems and projects will be an integral part of the role. The intern may also be involved in basic data analysis tasks under supervision, helping to identify trends or patterns. Adherence to data protection and confidentiality policies is paramount throughout all responsibilities.
