Organizational Context

Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The CBI Assistant is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of CBI payment records and monitoring systems, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of expenditures, balances, payments, and other transactional data for daily operations and reporting. They will help prepare recurring and special reports as required. A key responsibility is monitoring the implementation of UNHCR's Cash-Based Interventions (CBIs), which includes overseeing the delivery of all assistance items, monitoring infrastructure, and ensuring the completion of home visits. The incumbent will export and manage data related to cash assistance delivery to generate reports, and maintain proper filing and record-keeping systems. They will also prepare background materials, working papers, and tables for briefing and review sessions, and assist in data collection and reporting activities. Routine correspondence will be prepared, and liaison will be maintained with persons of concern (POC), assistance beneficiaries, and partners. Any incidents or problems that cannot be resolved at their level will be escalated to the supervisor. The role also involves supporting the identification and management of risks that may impact objectives within their area of responsibility, ensuring risk-based decision-making, and raising any identified risks, issues, or concerns to a supervisor or relevant colleagues. Other related duties as required will also be performed.
Work Experience
1 year of relevant experience is required for GS4 level. Essential experience includes computer skills (MS Office) and knowledge of database applications. Desirable experience includes knowledge of UNHCR programmes, completion of relevant UNHCR learning programmes, experience in Cash-Based Interventions, and proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and SQL.
