Job Purpose
The EGRISS Monitoring and Coordination Intern will support the effective implementation and monitoring of the Enhanced General Refugee Information System (EGRISS). This role involves assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure the system accurately reflects refugee needs and UNHCR's operational response. The intern will contribute to enhancing the efficiency and impact of UNHCR's programs by providing timely and relevant information for decision-making. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and utility of EGRISS, enabling UNHCR to better serve and protect displaced populations. The intern will gain valuable experience in humanitarian data management and program coordination within a leading international organization.
Responsibilities
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the EGRISS, including data entry, validation, and quality control to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support the monitoring of EGRISS implementation across various field operations, identifying challenges and best practices. Contribute to the development and dissemination of EGRISS-related reports, dashboards, and analytical products for internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate communication and coordination between EGRISS focal points in different country operations and headquarters. Provide technical assistance and training support to users of the EGRISS platform as needed. Help in organizing and documenting EGRISS-related meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Assist in updating EGRISS documentation, user manuals, and standard operating procedures. Conduct research on relevant topics related to refugee data management and information systems. Support the development of new features or improvements to the EGRISS based on user feedback and evolving programmatic needs. Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy policies in all EGRISS-related activities. Contribute to ad-hoc requests and projects as assigned by the supervisor, related to EGRISS monitoring and coordination.
Work Experience
Previous experience in data management, monitoring and evaluation, or program support within a humanitarian or international organization is an asset. Familiarity with refugee issues and UNHCR's mandate is desirable.
