Responsibilities
The Public Health and Partnership Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring public health strategies and programs in line with UNHCR's mandate and global health standards. This includes assessing health needs, identifying gaps, and recommending interventions for refugees and displaced populations. The officer will lead the coordination of health-related activities with government ministries, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners, ensuring a cohesive and effective response. A key responsibility will be to foster and maintain strong partnerships with national health authorities and other stakeholders to advocate for the inclusion of refugees in national health systems and policies. The role involves managing health data, analyzing trends, and reporting on public health indicators to inform program planning and decision-making. Furthermore, the officer will contribute to resource mobilization efforts by identifying funding opportunities and supporting the development of proposals for health-related projects. They will also provide technical guidance and capacity building to UNHCR staff and implementing partners on public health issues. Ensuring adherence to public health best practices, including disease surveillance, prevention, and response, will be paramount. Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in public health, health program management, or a related area, preferably in humanitarian or development settings. Experience in partnership building and coordination is desirable.
