Organizational Context
The Reporting Associate operates under the supervision of a Reporting Officer or another professional staff member, receiving guidance and support from senior staff and support units. The role involves establishing strong liaisons with internal and external parties, including Donors, UN Agencies, and Implementing and Operational Partners, to facilitate effective reporting and information exchange within UNHCR.
Job Purpose
The Reporting Associate is responsible for fulfilling internal and external reporting requests, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information. This involves staying abreast of operational developments, assisting in the preparation of various reports such as Sitreps and Fact Sheets, and consolidating data for periodic updates. The role also supports the development of funding submissions, appeals, and donor reports, while enforcing compliance with all reporting requirements. By liaising with internal and external partners and working closely with the Information Management Unit, the incumbent ensures that data is presented accurately and in a standardized format, contributing to informed decision-making and effective communication of UNHCR's activities and needs.
Responsibilities
The Reporting Associate is tasked with staying informed about operational developments to assist in the preparation of briefing notes and reports. A key responsibility is consolidating data and facilitating the creation of periodic reports, including Situation Reports (Sitreps), Fact Sheets, and other activity-specific reports. The incumbent will liaise with both internal and external partners to gather necessary information and collaborate closely with the Information Management Unit to ensure accurate and standardized data presentation. Furthermore, the role involves assisting in the development of funding submissions, appeals, and reports, as well as preparing and distributing meeting minutes. Consolidating inputs for donor reports and enforcing compliance with reporting requirements are also crucial duties. The associate will support the identification and management of risks impacting their area of responsibility, ensuring risk-based decision-making and escalating any identified risks, issues, or concerns to their supervisor or relevant colleagues. Performing other related duties as required is also part of the role.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Experience dealing with the public and diverse stakeholders is desirable.
