Job Purpose

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the protection of UNHCR personnel, refugees, and assets. Supervise, train, and manage the performance of all security personnel, including guards and other security staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Conduct regular security risk assessments and threat analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. Coordinate closely with local authorities, UN security agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a cohesive security approach. Oversee the management of security equipment, communication systems, and access control measures. Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and crises, including developing and executing contingency plans. Ensure compliance with UNHCR security policies, guidelines, and best practices. Provide security briefings and advice to UNHCR staff and visitors. Maintain accurate records of security incidents, patrols, and other relevant security activities. Manage the security budget and resources efficiently.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in security management, military, or police service, with a focus on physical security and personnel protection. Experience in a humanitarian or international organization setting is highly desirable.
