Job Purpose

The Senior Protection Assistant - AI Translation Data role focuses on supporting UNHCR's efforts in Bangladesh, specifically in Cox's Bazar, by contributing to the development and refinement of AI translation tools for the Rohingya population. This position is crucial for enhancing communication and access to information for refugees, thereby improving the delivery of protection services. The incumbent will play a key role in collecting, annotating, and validating translation data, ensuring its accuracy and cultural appropriateness. Responsibilities

The Senior Protection Assistant - AI Translation Data will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and annotating large datasets of Rohingya language for AI translation models. This includes transcribing audio, translating text, and ensuring the accuracy and cultural relevance of the data. The role involves working closely with refugees and UNHCR staff to gather diverse linguistic examples and contextual information. The assistant will also be tasked with quality assurance of the translated outputs, identifying errors, and providing feedback for model improvement. Work Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in data annotation, translation, linguistic analysis, or a related field. Experience working with refugee populations or in humanitarian settings is an asset.
