Job Purpose
The PPH Associate will support the Protection and Programme Unit in its daily operations, contributing to the effective delivery of protection services and programme activities. This role involves assisting in the implementation of protection strategies, monitoring programme activities, and ensuring compliance with UNHCR standards and guidelines. The Associate will play a crucial role in gathering information, preparing reports, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the protection of persons of concern. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying protection needs and contributing to the development of appropriate responses, ensuring that the rights and well-being of refugees and other persons of concern are at the forefront of all activities.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of protection activities, including registration, case management, and community-based protection initiatives. Support the monitoring and evaluation of protection programmes, ensuring adherence to UNHCR standards and best practices. Conduct field visits to assess protection needs and identify vulnerable individuals or groups requiring specific interventions. Prepare regular reports on protection activities, including statistical data and qualitative analysis. Coordinate with implementing partners, government authorities, and other UN agencies to ensure effective collaboration and information sharing. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of protection cases and programme activities. Contribute to the development of protection strategies and work plans. Provide administrative support to the Protection and Programme Unit, including organizing meetings and managing correspondence. Assist in the organization of training sessions and workshops for staff and partners on protection-related issues. Ensure that protection principles are mainstreamed across all relevant activities and programmes. Support the identification and referral of persons of concern to relevant services, including legal, psychosocial, and livelihood support.
Work Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in humanitarian aid, refugee protection, or programme support. Experience working with UNHCR or other UN agencies is desirable.
