This role operates within the Media and Communications Branch of the Division of External Relations, supporting the implementation of internal communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives aligned with the UNFPA global communications strategy.

Job Purpose

The Internal Communications Consultant will support the Media and Communications Branch in executing internal communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives. This includes developing and disseminating content across various online platforms, assisting with the organization of staff meetings and events, and contributing to the overall UNFPA global communications strategy. The role aims to enhance internal connectivity and engagement, ensuring staff are informed and aligned with organizational goals and the UNFPA mandate.

Responsibilities

The consultant will manage all facets of internal communications, encompassing the creation, editing, and publication of text and multimedia content for platforms such as myUNFPA, the Voices newsmagazine, newsletters, and communications hubs. Responsibilities include supporting the organization of the General Staff Meeting, managing analytics for internal channels, and developing training materials for staff on internal communications. The role also involves conducting research, brainstorming communication ideas, and assisting with the coordination and production of in-person events and exhibits.

Work Experience

A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in communications, marketing, or public relations is desirable. Experience with development agencies is a plus. Strong organizational, research, writing, editing, interpersonal, and project management skills are essential.

Skills

Excellent writing and editing skills, strong organizational and research capabilities, knowledge of web production, social media, and multimedia tools. Proficiency in interpersonal communications and project management. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work harmoniously with diverse staff are required.
