Job Purpose
The Ethics Office Volunteer assists UNFPA's Ethics Office in promoting and upholding ethical standards across the organization. This role supports the development and dissemination of ethical awareness materials, training programs, and communications. The volunteer will conduct research on ethical issues, assist in policy development, and maintain the Ethics Office's online presence. By contributing to these efforts, the volunteer plays a crucial part in fostering a principled and ethical work environment, essential for UNFPA's mission to ensure reproductive health and rights for all, and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will assist in developing outreach materials to raise awareness on ethical issues for UNFPA personnel and contribute to the development and delivery of ethics training programs. Responsibilities include creating and distributing ethics-related communications, developing and maintaining the Ethics Office's online presence, and conducting research on relevant ethical issues. The role also involves assisting in the development and revision of ethics policies, guidance, and information notes, and supporting the general management of the Ethics Office. Other duties as required will also be performed.
Work Experience
Some experience in working with development agencies, including in a volunteer capacity. Experience in developing communications materials, managing digital content, delivering training programs, and conducting research or drafting policy documents on governance, compliance, or ethical issues is desirable.
Skills
Strong analytical and writing skills. Initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work harmoniously with staff from diverse backgrounds. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset. Competencies include planning and organizing, accountability, client orientation, communication, and creativity.
