Organizational Context

The Programme Associate supports the implementation of UNFPA’s country programme, reporting to the Programme Specialist. This role provides operational, coordination, and administrative support for programme planning, monitoring, and reporting. It contributes to data management and tracking of implementation, ensuring compliance with UNFPA procedures to support effective programme delivery in Ukraine.

Job Purpose

The Programme Associate plays a key role in supporting UNFPA's country programme implementation by applying established procedures for programme planning, monitoring, and reporting. The role involves assisting with data collection, compilation, and verification, tracking programme activities and results, and ensuring compliance with UNFPA rules. Additionally, the associate will support the coordination of programme activities and contribute to knowledge management through the organization and documentation of relevant information, thereby facilitating effective programme execution and oversight.

Responsibilities

The Programme Associate assists in preparing project documents, work plans, and supporting materials by compiling and organizing information. They support the routine implementation of assigned projects, including coordination with national counterparts and personnel, and track the delivery of activities and project inputs. The role involves monitoring programme and project implementation by collecting and organizing data on progress against work plans, and assisting in the preparation of status reports and updates. Support is provided for organizing monitoring visits, review meetings, and evaluation activities. The associate maintains programme data and records in corporate systems, supports data verification, and assists in maintaining programme tracking systems. They also support the application of UNFPA procedures, maintain documentation, and follow up on recommendations from monitoring processes. Coordination with implementing partners, collection of partner information, and tracking report submissions are key duties. Logistical support for programme activities, meetings, and missions is also provided, along with documenting lessons learned and maintaining organized programme records.

Work Experience

Requires a minimum of six years of relevant experience in programme management, monitoring, and compliance, preferably within UN agencies or international organizations. Experience should include strong knowledge of programme planning, monitoring, reporting, quality assurance, HACT/NEX procedures, and results-based management. Demonstrated understanding of compliance frameworks, accountability standards, and partnership oversight is necessary.
