Job Purpose
The National Information Management Analyst is crucial for supporting the generation, compilation, and analysis of Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) nexus data for UNFPA's 10th Country Programme (2025-2030) in Ethiopia. The role strengthens evidence-based decision-making by providing timely and accurate data analysis and insights. This contributes to informed policy formulation and programme development, ensuring that UNFPA's interventions are strategic and impactful. The analyst's work directly supports the achievement of UNFPA's mandate by ensuring data drives effective programming and resource allocation.
Responsibilities
The role involves comprehensive data systems management, including the transition to and optimization of the DHIS2 Production Instance, and architecting its metadata schema. Responsibilities include overseeing monthly data collection from Implementing Partners (IPs) via DHIS2, ensuring data quality, and providing technical support. The analyst will develop new DHIS2 components for real-time performance tracking and expand existing overview models. A key duty is implementing a tracking system for facility-level commodity distribution and utilizing advanced analytical tools for data interpretation and visualization, including map development. The role also focuses on scaling data quality checking workflows, ensuring dataset organization, and assisting in migration task consistency. Furthermore, the analyst provides essential technical support to CO staff and IPs, develops analytical matrices, infographics, and maps for reporting, and supports programme units with data-driven insights for advocacy and programming. Coordination, knowledge management, capacity building, and participation in monitoring activities are also integral.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of professional experience in information management, humanitarian data management, and monitoring data, with exposure to protection and/or health-related data, ideally including humanitarian operations. Experience in coordinating with government counterparts and development partners is beneficial. Experience in defining and monitoring performance indicators, and in monitoring and evaluation of projects, is an asset.
