Job Purpose

The position also supports the development of partnerships and advocacy efforts aligned with the ICPD Programme of Action and contributes to UN system coordination at the State level, including joint initiatives. The aim is to help close gaps towards transformative goals by 2030, building on UNFPA's long-standing partnership with the Government of India.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst is responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of UNFPA's country programme in close coordination with government and civil society counterparts, aligning with State Government priorities and UNFPA's transformative results. This includes providing strategic and programmatic support for work plan development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The role involves implementing corporate programme and financial management mechanisms, analyzing progress, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing corrective solutions. Establishing networks with government counterparts, implementing partners, and other UN agencies is crucial for efficient project delivery. The analyst will also support policy dialogue by preparing materials for the State Head of Office, coordinate State-level UN discussions on SDGs, and ensure programme implementation complies with UNFPA policies. Additionally, the role contributes to advocacy and resource mobilization efforts, including proposal writing and donor reporting, and assists in knowledge management strategies.
Work Experience
Requires two years of professional experience in development management, with practical experience in programme design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, including budget management. A good understanding of mainstreaming human rights and gender equality dimensions is necessary. Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems is a must.
