Job Purpose

The Mobile Clinic Chauffeur is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile clinic vehicles, ensuring timely and secure transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies to various field locations. This role is crucial for supporting UNFPA's outreach programs and service delivery in remote areas. The chauffeur's adherence to driving regulations, knowledge of local conditions, and ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance contribute directly to the successful implementation of health initiatives and the fulfillment of UNFPA's mandate.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to drive mobile clinic vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring the transportation of staff, medical supplies, and equipment to designated locations. This includes conducting pre-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle logs, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good working order. The chauffeur must possess a valid category C driver's license and have at least three years of experience driving all-terrain vehicles. A thorough understanding of the country's security situation and road conditions is essential, along with the ability to undertake frequent field travel. Adherence to good driving practices and protocols, including defensive driving techniques, is paramount. Basic mechanical knowledge for minor repairs is considered an asset, as is experience with UN agencies or international organizations.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of professional experience driving all-terrain vehicles is required. Experience within a UN agency or international organization is desirable. Familiarity with the country's security and road conditions is also important.

Skills

Proficiency in driving all-terrain vehicles, knowledge of defensive driving techniques, basic mechanical aptitude, good visual acuity, and understanding of driving regulations and protocols.
