Job Purpose
The international consultant will lead a national survey to assess the availability of reproductive health products and services in Niger. This involves designing and validating the survey methodology, developing sampling plans, and adapting data collection tools according to UNFPA Supplies Partnership standards. The consultant will train and supervise enumerators, coordinate data collection, ensure quality control, and analyze the collected data. The purpose is to produce reliable data to inform supply chain management and reproductive health programs, evaluate service availability and quality, and identify constraints to strengthen reproductive health product and service security.
Responsibilities
The international consultant is responsible for designing, coordinating, and supervising a national survey to evaluate the availability of reproductive health products and services, supply chain performance, and the provision of family planning and emergency obstetric and neonatal care services. This includes defining the methodology, supervising data collection, analyzing data, and producing reports in line with UNFPA Supplies Partnership standards. The consultant will also assess the availability of reproductive health products in health facilities, analyze the accessibility and integration of family planning and emergency obstetric and neonatal care services, and evaluate the performance of the reproductive health product supply chain. Recommendations will be formulated to enhance the implementation of UNFPA Supplies and reproductive health programs at the national level.
Work Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in conducting studies or surveys. Proven experience in electronic data collection using devices like tablets or mobile phones. Demonstrated experience in data processing, management, and analysis. Proficiency in survey and data analysis software (e.g., EPI Info, STATA, SPSS) is required. Experience with the SYSTMAPP platform is an asset. Similar survey experience in reproductive health is also advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in French and good knowledge of English. Experience with electronic data collection tools and data analysis software. Ability to coordinate and supervise survey activities. Strong analytical and reporting skills. Commitment to UNFPA's mandate and values, including integrity, cultural diversity, and embracing change.
