Job Purpose
The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a crucial member of the global HR team, responsible for identifying and meeting the human resource needs and objectives within their client area to support the UNFPA Strategic Plan. The HRBP acts as the primary interface between business units and the HR function, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives. They guide managers in applying HR policies effectively, contribute to policy development, and ensure timely, client-focused HR support. This role involves supervising HR Specialists and Assistants, coordinating HR processes, and providing value-adding advice to managers and staff.
Responsibilities
The Senior HR Business Partner provides expert policy advice, guiding staff and managers on HR policies, guidelines, and practices, and developing innovative solutions for complex HR challenges. They manage the implementation of HR policies at the local level, offering technical advice and training. The role involves overseeing performance and staff development, managing corporate talent management programs, and supporting leadership in linking individual performance to strategic priorities. Additionally, the HRBP leads organizational effectiveness initiatives, participates in HR projects, advises on workforce planning and analytics, and manages recruitment and staffing activities for national and international staff and consultants. They also contribute to humanitarian capacity building and knowledge sharing within the HR community.
Work Experience
Ten years of progressively relevant experience in HR management, including five years at the international level and five years in a similar role, is required. Experience in a supervisory/managerial role is also essential. Experience with international development/humanitarian organizations or multilaterals is desirable.
