This role enhances the quality, accessibility, and coordination of GBV interventions, supporting integrated service delivery with health, protection, and MHPSS sectors.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing technical support, capacity development, and policy advisory by analyzing socio-economic environments relevant to population and development, and identifying intervention opportunities. It includes contributing to GBV coordination mechanisms, applying standard guidelines for GBV programming, and supporting the analysis of GBV Information Management System data. The incumbent will disseminate guidelines, conduct participatory analyses, develop GBV action plans, and support proposal development for resource mobilization. Coordination and partnership building are key, involving representation in inter-agency forums, liaising with GBV staff and gender advisors, and coordinating with GBV and protection actors for emergency assessments and response planning. Monitoring and evaluation activities include developing harmonized frameworks, monitoring partner work plans, training stakeholders on GBV principles, and analyzing GBVIMS data to identify trends and service gaps. Programme management entails budget awareness, asset management, reporting, and assisting in proposal writing.
Work Experience
Requires two years of progressively responsible professional experience, with a strong commitment to the UN and UNFPA mandate. Field experience in addressing gender and/or reproductive health in emergency and post-conflict contexts is essential. Knowledge of gender issues, GBV, international human rights standards, and experience implementing UNSC resolutions on Women, Peace, and Security are important. Experience with GBV tools, excellent computer literacy, and training delivery capacity are also required.
