Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Analyst, NOB, EECARO
Organizational Context
The ICT Analyst is responsible for overseeing ICT policies and standards and Technology for Development (T4D) programmatic support within the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (EECARO) and its country offices. Reporting to the EECARO International Operations Manager, this role supports UNFPA's mandate to ensure every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled, aligning with global ICPD and SDG goals.
Job Purpose
This role strategically blends core ICT operations with Technology for Development (T4D) programmatic support, ensuring seamless operation of ICT infrastructure and end-user services. The ICT Analyst acts as a catalyst for integrating digital innovations into UNFPA's programming in EECARO, aligning technology use with organizational policies and strategies to maximize impact on ICPD and SDG goals. Key contributions include effective implementation of corporate ICT strategies, providing service-minded end-user support, managing ICT resources, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of ICT systems. The role also serves as a vital link to the global Digital Center of Excellence for T4D programmatic support.
Responsibilities
The ICT Analyst provides Technology for Development (T4D) programmatic support by acting as a liaison between regional teams and the global Digital Center of Excellence (CoE), facilitating the adoption and scaling of digital solutions. This includes assessing technology use, providing technical guidance on AI and digital innovations, managing T4D initiatives, and developing training programs to enhance digital dexterity among staff. The role also manages core ICT operations, adapting corporate ICT strategies to regional needs, overseeing shared services, and implementing cybersecurity measures. Responsibilities include providing end-user support, managing ICT resources and budgets, ensuring the security and continuity of ICT systems, and maintaining an inventory of ICT assets.
Work Experience
Requires 2 years of progressive experience in ICT, preferably in network infrastructure or cloud-based application administration. Demonstrated experience with Technology for Development (T4D) programmatic support, particularly AI-related, is essential. Knowledge of local network infrastructure, viral protection systems, and UN security protocols is required. Desirable experience includes relevant hardware/software management certifications, knowledge of Google Workspace, and expertise in network design and connectivity.
