Job Purpose

By analyzing political, social, and economic trends, the role contributes to project formulation, evaluation, joint programming, and alignment with national development frameworks. The position also involves monitoring implementation results, ensuring adherence to systems and procedures, and recommending enhancements to optimize programme delivery and impact.
Responsibilities
The role involves participating in country programme and project formulation by analyzing relevant information, drafting project documents, and preparing statistical data. It includes evaluating project activities, assessing achievements, recommending corrective actions, and conducting field visits. The Programme Analyst will analyze the political, social, and economic environment to identify opportunities for UNFPA assistance and prepare briefs for policy dialogue and coordination. Responsibilities also encompass assessing the implications of new policies on programme execution, fostering collaborative relationships with partners for efficient project delivery, and assisting in knowledge management to capture lessons learned. Furthermore, the role supports advocacy and resource mobilization efforts by maintaining donor contacts and organizing events.
Work Experience
Up to two years of professional experience in Gender/GBV prevention, response, or risk mitigation is required, with programme/project management experience being desirable. Experience in GBV prevention, gender equality, and humanitarian response programmes is a strong advantage. Practical experience in designing, monitoring, and evaluating development and human projects is essential, along with proficiency in office software packages and web-based management systems.
