Organizational Context
The Monitoring and Evaluation Associate is based in the UNFPA Gambia Country Office, reporting to the Technical Coordinator and Assistant Representative. This role supports the EU-ISEY project, focusing on effective monitoring, evaluation, and evidence generation. The position contributes to improving project results orientation and ensuring compliance with UNFPA and EU reporting standards, aligning with UNFPA's mandate to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation Associate provides crucial technical support for the EU-ISEY project, ensuring the quality of implementation and achievement of milestones. The role is responsible for tracking project results, supporting data entry into the EU’s OPSYS system, and contributing to regular progress reports. Additionally, the incumbent conducts field monitoring of mentorship programs and leadership initiatives for female educators, and supports capacity building for implementing partners and CSOs in results-based management and data disaggregation. This function is vital for enhancing project performance and accountability.
Responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Associate provides technical support to monitor the progress of UNFPA-led activities within the EU-ISEY project, ensuring quality implementation and milestone achievement. Responsibilities include supporting data entry into the EU’s OPSYS result reporting system and contributing to bi-annual and yearly progress reports. The role involves conducting site visits and spot checks at educational institutions to monitor mentorship programs and leadership initiatives for female educators. Furthermore, the incumbent supports the capacity building of implementing partners and grassroots CSOs on results-based management, data disaggregation, and project reporting, fostering effective project management and data utilization.
Work Experience
Requires at least six years of increasingly responsible experience in project monitoring and evaluation within development programs. Experience in supporting data entry and reporting for EU-funded projects is desirable.
