Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to develop the "4Ps Parent Leaders Handbook" for the Philippines. This handbook will serve as a key knowledge product to enhance community-based social development initiatives, specifically by engaging parents in transformative, rights-based programming. The role involves leading the end-to-end development of this user-centered material, ensuring it is practical, accessible, and effectively translates complex concepts for community volunteers and non-technical audiences. The handbook aims to strengthen parent leadership and contribute to broader goals of gender equality, GBV prevention, and social norm change within the community.
Responsibilities
The consultant will lead the comprehensive development of the "4Ps Parent Leaders Handbook." This includes conducting necessary research, such as focus group discussions and consultations, to inform content creation. The consultant is responsible for developing, validating, and finalizing user-centered materials that are practical and easy to understand for community volunteers. This involves translating complex technical concepts into accessible language and formats. The role requires designing and facilitating participatory processes, including workshops and validation exercises with diverse stakeholders. Experience in pilot testing and iterative refinement of learning materials is also a key responsibility. The handbook development will focus on themes of gender equality, GBV prevention and response, social and behavior change (SBC), and social norm change, with a specific emphasis on engaging parents.
Work Experience
Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in developing training manuals, toolkits, modules, or handbooks, particularly in community-based social development contexts. Proven experience in leading end-to-end knowledge product development, including research and content finalization. Experience working with government systems, social protection programs, or large-scale community-based initiatives, preferably in the Philippines, is highly desirable.
Skills
Strong analytical, writing, documentation, facilitation, and communication skills. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical, user-friendly materials. Experience in designing and facilitating participatory processes. Background in SBC, community organizing, child protection, gender and development, social inclusion, and leadership development. Understanding of socio-cultural dynamics related to GBV, gender, and SRHR in the Philippine context.
