Job Purpose
The Associate Programme Officer (SSR) plays a crucial role in supporting the UNFPA Venezuela Country Office's efforts in sexual and reproductive health (SSR). Responsibilities
The Associate Programme Officer (SSR) will support the UNFPA Venezuela Country Office in sexual and reproductive health by undertaking several key tasks. This includes conducting baseline assessments and diagnostic updates on resources, personnel, infrastructure, and beneficiary needs in maternal care, contraception, and management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and Sexual Violence. The role involves designing and planning implementation actions in coordination with partners and authorities, and managing the logistics and supply chain for medical supplies and contraceptives. Additionally, the officer will implement training plans for health personnel, support the conditioning of health centers, and facilitate community outreach for SSR awareness and services. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of activities, beneficiary reach, and inventory, along with supporting communication efforts and systematizing project experiences, are also integral parts of the role.
Work Experience
Requires at least three years of experience working in or implementing programs/projects in public health centers. Desirable experience includes humanitarian implementation, residency in Zulia state, and experience with population and development, gender, or sexual and reproductive health issues. Knowledge of the humanitarian structure and international cooperation is also advantageous.
Skills
Essential skills include excellent organization and planning, strong communication, tact, discretion, and the ability to work independently and make decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite is required. Experience with ERP management platforms is beneficial, and knowledge of the QUANTUM system is valued. Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with basic English knowledge being desirable.
