Job Purpose

The role is responsible for leading the technical and integral coordination of a project, ensuring strategic alignment with inter-agency partners (UNICEF), institutional actors, and territorial organizations to effectively achieve UNFPA's results. The coordinator will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of field actions, integrating human rights, intersectionality, and gender equity approaches. This position aims to strengthen territorial governance under the technical leadership of the Population and Development Advisory, contributing to the project's objectives and UNFPA's mandate in Colombia.

Responsibilities

Lead technical articulation with alliance partners (UNICEF, Ministry of Education, ART) for coherent project implementation. Represent UNFPA technically in project governance spaces, facilitating decision-making. Foster political and technical dialogue with government actors to align project actions with public policies on youth and gender. Coordinate with UNICEF and ART on a communication and visibility strategy highlighting the alliance's impact and the MPTF's role. Lead the integral planning of UNFPA's Results 2 and 3, ensuring alignment with the project document and strategic plan. Ensure territorial implementation in Roberto Payán and Tumaco, supervising activities with transparency. Structure hiring processes for technical teams and consultants, preparing ToRs and providing methodological guidance. Supervise contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with timelines and quality standards. Adapt and transfer UNFPA's methodological tools for socio-environmental initiatives. Facilitate collaboration with community tables, grassroots organizations, and women's collectives. Conduct field monitoring visits and provide direct technical assistance. Design and implement UNFPA's monitoring scheme to collect data on women's and youth economic autonomy. Coordinate technical and financial progress reports for the MPTF. Lead the systematization of experiences, documenting lessons learned and best practices.

Work Experience

Minimum of seven years of professional experience. Experience in public management, territorial planning, capacity building for local actors (youth, women, ethnic groups), peacebuilding initiatives with youth, environmental projects, population analysis, and the 2030 Agenda and SDGs is required. Experience with UN agencies is desirable.

Skills

Leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, effective communication (oral and written), teamwork, coordination, report writing, proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Cultural and gender sensitivity, adaptability, and a positive, constructive attitude are essential.
