Individual Consultant (Local) : Digital Growth Strategy Consultant, New Delhi
Organizational Context
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the UN agency dedicated to accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals for sexual and reproductive health and rights. This role is based in New Delhi, India, and will receive technical support from UNFPA in-house professionals. The consultant will work collaboratively with the Media and Comms Specialist.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to develop and implement a digital growth strategy for UNFPA in India. The consultant will be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance UNFPA's digital presence, reach, and engagement with key stakeholders, including youth, policymakers, and the general public. This will involve leveraging digital platforms and innovative approaches to advance UNFPA's mandate of sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, and population development. The role contributes to strengthening UNFPA's communication efforts and impact in achieving its strategic objectives within the country.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for developing a comprehensive digital growth strategy tailored to UNFPA's objectives in India. This includes conducting an analysis of the current digital landscape, identifying target audiences, and recommending innovative digital approaches to enhance engagement and outreach. The role involves creating and implementing a digital content strategy, managing social media platforms, and exploring new digital channels to amplify UNFPA's message. Collaboration with the Media and Comms Specialist is essential for developing monthly work plans and submitting detailed progress reports. The consultant will also focus on building strategic alliances, adapting knowledge to the local context, and leveraging national government and partner resources to maximize the impact of digital initiatives.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of progressive experience in digital strategy development and implementation, with a focus on growth hacking and audience engagement. Proven experience in managing social media campaigns and digital content creation is required. Experience working with international organizations or in the development sector is desirable.
Skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Expertise in digital marketing tools and platforms, social media management, and content creation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Conceptual innovation, partnership building, and adaptability are key competencies.
