UNFPA Uzbekistan is seeking a National Gender Expert to serve as Project Coordinator for the "Uzbekistan Innovative Social Protection System for Inclusion of Vulnerable People (INSON)" Project. This role supports the National Agency for Social Protection (NASP) in strengthening survivor-centred, multisectoral responses to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and improving access to quality social services for vulnerable populations, in coordination with the World Bank.
Job Purpose
The National Project Coordinator will provide essential technical, coordination, and implementation support for UNFPA-supported activities within the "INSON" Project. The role ensures effective coordination between UNFPA, NASP, the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), and the World Bank, aligning interventions with national policy and institutional contexts. The coordinator will facilitate the timely and effective implementation of project outputs, contributing to the enhancement of GBV multisectoral response, service quality, and institutional coordination, ultimately aiming to improve social protection systems for vulnerable people in Uzbekistan.
Responsibilities
The National Project Coordinator will serve as the primary focal point for coordination between UNFPA, NASP, PIU, and the World Bank, ensuring timely project output implementation according to the workplan. This includes coordinating inputs from government entities and partners, and organizing technical meetings. The role provides technical and operational support for GBV multisectoral response, contributing national expertise to policy documents, SOPs, and analytical outputs, and ensuring alignment with national legislation. Stakeholder engagement is crucial, involving facilitation of consultations, validation processes, and strengthening coordination mechanisms across GBV response sectors. The coordinator will also contribute to monitoring and reporting, including progress reports, technical briefs, and knowledge products, ensuring alignment with project indicators and reporting obligations.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of professional experience in GBV programming, social protection, or multisectoral service delivery in Uzbekistan. Demonstrated experience working with government institutions and coordinating multi-stakeholder processes. Experience supporting policy development, SOPs, or national guidelines is an asset.
Skills
Strong knowledge of national legislation and institutional mandates related to GBV. Excellent analytical, facilitation, and drafting skills. Fluency in English, Uzbek, and Russian.
