Organizational Context
Based in the UNFPA Country Office in Kabul, Afghanistan, this role supports resource mobilization and partnership strategies. The Analyst provides coordination, information management, and operational support for partnership engagement, donor reporting, and resource mobilization activities. Reporting to the Resource Mobilization Partnership Specialist, the position works closely with programme and communication functions to enhance partnership engagement and visibility efforts, contributing to UNFPA's mandate of ensuring every pregnancy is intended, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled.
Job Purpose
The Resource Mobilisation & Partnership Analyst supports the Country Office's partnership engagement and resource mobilization initiatives by focusing on operational knowledge management, coordination, and adapting materials to the local context. This involves facilitating coordination, preparing informational materials, and supporting communication with partners. The role is crucial for proposal development, donor reporting, and tracking partnership activities, thereby contributing to the ongoing implementation of programmes and strengthening partner engagement. The Analyst's efforts help ensure effective external relations, communications, and partnership-building in a dynamic development and funding landscape.
Responsibilities
The role involves supporting partnership engagement by contributing to engagement strategies, preparing analytical briefs for senior management, and coordinating daily interactions with partners. It includes analysing the partnership landscape to identify strategic opportunities and maintaining partnership data. For resource mobilization, the Analyst will analyse funding opportunities, draft proposals and concept notes, support the integration of results-based narratives, and monitor funding pipelines. This includes contributing to resource mobilization strategies based on donor priorities and trends, and maintaining records of donor communications. In donor reporting, the Analyst will contribute to the analysis and consolidation of reports, ensuring quality and alignment with results frameworks, and synthesizing programme results. The role also supports communication and visibility efforts by contributing to approaches and materials, coordinating with the communications function, and drafting results-based communication products. Additionally, the Analyst will manage partnership and funding data for strategic planning and provide coordination support across programme teams.
Work Experience
At least two years of relevant professional experience in partnerships, programme support, communications, resource mobilization, or related areas, preferably within the national context, are required. Experience supporting proposal preparation or donor reporting is desirable. Previous experience with international organizations or multilateral agencies is an advantage.

Functional competencies involve leading country advocacy, creating organizational visibility, and mobilizing resources. Proficiency in English and local languages (Dari and/or Pashto) is required.
