Organizational Context

The Resource Mobilisation & Partnership Analyst is based in the UNFPA Country Office in Kabul, Afghanistan, reporting to the Resource Mobilization Partnership Specialist. This role supports the design, analysis, and implementation of resource mobilization and partnership strategies within the UNFPA Afghanistan Country Office. UNFPA's mandate is to deliver a world where every pregnancy is intended, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled, aligning with the ICPD Programme of Action and the SDGs.

Job Purpose

The Resource Mobilisation & Partnership Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Country Office's partnership engagement and resource mobilization efforts. The position focuses on operational knowledge management, coordination, and adapting materials and approaches to the local context. By facilitating coordination, preparing essential information, and supporting communication with partners, the analyst directly contributes to proposal development, donor reporting, and the tracking of partnership activities. This support is vital for the ongoing implementation of programmes and for fostering strong partner engagement, ultimately advancing UNFPA's mission in Afghanistan.

Responsibilities

The role involves comprehensive support for partnership engagement, including contributing to engagement strategies, preparing analytical briefs for senior management, and coordinating daily interactions with partners. It also entails analyzing the partnership landscape to identify strategic opportunities and maintaining partnership data. For resource mobilization, responsibilities include analyzing funding opportunities, drafting proposals and concept notes, supporting the integration of results-based narratives, and monitoring funding pipelines. The analyst will also contribute to developing resource mobilization strategies based on donor priorities and funding trends, and maintain records of donor communications. Donor reporting involves consolidating and analyzing reports, providing substantive inputs, monitoring deadlines, and coordinating inputs from programme teams. Additionally, the role supports the development of communication and visibility materials, drafts communication products highlighting programme impact, and coordinates logistical aspects of visibility activities. Information management includes analyzing partnership and funding data, providing administrative and coordination support, and contributing to internal knowledge products on funding trends and partner engagement.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of professional experience (with a master's degree) or four years (with a bachelor's degree) in partnerships, programme support, communications, resource mobilization, or related areas is required, preferably within a national context. Experience supporting proposal preparation or donor reporting is desirable, as is previous experience with international organizations or multilateral agencies.
