Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst, RH is responsible for the effective management of UNFPA's reproductive health activities, encompassing maternal health and family planning. This role involves overseeing project formulation and evaluation, contributing to joint programming initiatives, and aligning efforts with national development frameworks. The incumbent plays a crucial part in strengthening the delivery of quality, life-saving reproductive, maternal, and newborn health services, aiming to expand equitable access to essential RH services and ensure continuity of care for vulnerable populations in a complex humanitarian setting.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst, RH is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of reproductive health interventions under the BHN framework, providing technical input on maternal, newborn, and reproductive health service delivery, and supporting the expansion and quality improvement of Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEmONC) services. The role promotes adherence to national and international standards and contributes to integrating RH services within primary healthcare. Additionally, the incumbent provides technical assistance to stakeholders, contributes to policy and guideline development, participates in technical working groups, and introduces best practices. Programme management duties include developing and monitoring work plans and budgets, ensuring results-based monitoring, timely reporting, and quality assurance. The role also involves documenting lessons learned, ensuring compliance with UNFPA procedures, managing relationships with implementing partners and stakeholders, supporting coordination with UN agencies and NGOs, and contributing to proposal development and advocacy efforts for reproductive and maternal health.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in reproductive and/or maternal health programming is required. Experience in humanitarian or fragile settings, programme management, stakeholder coordination, and monitoring and evaluation of health programmes is desirable. Experience working with national counterparts, NGOs, and development or humanitarian partners is also desirable, as is prior experience within the UN system.
