International Consultant for Teacher Trainer on ICT Pedagogy
Organizational Context
UNESCO, in partnership with UNICEF and funded by the Uzbekistan Vision 2030 Fund, is implementing a joint project to enhance education for vulnerable children in Uzbekistan. The initiative focuses on modernizing classrooms, integrating digital learning, and supporting children with disabilities, particularly in rural areas and for girls. A key component involves strengthening teacher capacity through targeted training and updated resources to deliver inclusive, high-quality education. The project aims to renovate Centres of Pedagogical Excellence and develop a National ICT and AI Teacher Competency Framework.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen teacher professional development within the "Empowering Education in Uzbekistan" project. The consultant will review and deliver training modules based on the National ICT and AI Teacher Competency Framework, targeting mentor teachers. The goal is to equip mentors with the skills to integrate ICT and AI tools effectively into teaching and learning, aligning with national standards and international best practices. The consultant will collaborate with national trainers and local partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality, practice-oriented training sessions that promote inclusive, learner-centered, and gender-sensitive teaching methodologies, ultimately enhancing learning outcomes for all students.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of UNESCO Tashkent Office and the project officer, the consultant will review and deliver training modules based on the Uzbekistan ICT and AI Competency Framework for Teachers. This involves developing and delivering three integrated training modules for selected mentor teachers, approximately 20-25 participants per group. The consultant will participate in online coordination sessions prior to in-country delivery and conduct 10-day training modules using adult-education methodologies. Key responsibilities include ensuring methodological coherence, encouraging peer learning among trainers, fostering collective ownership, and strengthening the synergy between pedagogical and communicative dimensions. The consultant will provide feedback on training materials, contribute to continuous improvement, and support the project's documentation and monitoring processes.
Work Experience
A minimum of ten years of professional experience in adult education or teacher training is necessary. This includes at least three years of direct experience as a trainer or facilitator, with proven experience in ICT and digital learning. Experience within Central Asian education systems and intercultural sensitivity are considered assets.
