Job Purpose

Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will be responsible for supporting the planning, organization, coordination, operations, and logistics of the 2027 UNESCO World Conference on ESD. Key tasks include following up on invitation letters, communicating with invited participants via various channels, and liaising with UNESCO HQ and the National Planning Committee to ensure online registration. The role involves coordinating participant travel, including collecting documents, creating vendor accounts, and purchasing tickets through the designated travel agency. Additionally, the assistant will prepare logistical notes, share travel information and guidance, and facilitate visa processing. Ensuring venue, interpretation, accommodation, and conference package logistics are managed in collaboration with the National Planning Committee is vital. The role also includes supporting contract creation for services such as hotels and interpretation, performing related duties, and maintaining records of conference data. Onsite support during the conference execution is also expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required in supporting project coordination, management, implementation, and monitoring. Experience working within a UN agency or an international organization is considered an asset for this role.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential. Proficiency in planning and organizing tasks, accountability, and a results-focused approach are key. The ability to foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, along with strong teamwork capabilities, is also important for this position.
