Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Senior Coordinator for Research and Partnerships, this role provides crucial technical expertise in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and scientific computing. The incumbent will contribute significantly to ICTP's training programs for young researchers, specifically the Master in High-Performance Computing (MHPC). This position is integral to the International Consortium for Scientific Computing (ICOMP), supporting the strategic plan to advance computational sciences worldwide. The role involves coordinating and updating curricula, organizing course delivery, and teaching specialized topics, ensuring alignment with current HPC developments and institutional priorities. The aim is to foster an intellectually stimulating environment for learning and research.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the Master in High-Performance Computing (MHPC) by providing advanced technical expertise, coordinating and updating curricula, organizing course delivery, and teaching specialized topics such as Advanced C++. Support the strategic development of the MHPC by formulating recommendations and ensuring coherence with institutional priorities and emerging scientific trends. Contribute to broader ICTP programs by supporting initiatives in HPC and related fields, both internally and through collaborative efforts. Provide essential technical support to ICTP staff in HPC and scientific computing. Offer comprehensive academic, technical, and logistical support to ICTP students and visiting researchers, fostering a collaborative and stimulating learning environment. Assist in mentoring, advising, and guiding students and participants in HPC-related topics to support their academic progress and professional growth.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and advanced parallel programming is necessary. Experience in an international setting and familiarity with large-scale computational infrastructures are preferred.
Skills
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and organizing advanced training programs. Strong analytical and organizational abilities. Proven capacity to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural settings, including experience mentoring students. Excellent communication skills are essential.
