Job Purpose

This consultancy position within the Education Sector (ED) at UNESCO is based in Dakar, Senegal, with the possibility of remote work. The consultant will be engaged for a period of two months at Level 3 (Senior). The role involves contributing to the sector's objectives through specialized expertise. The consultant is expected to deliver specific assignments and outputs as defined by the hiring unit, aligning with UNESCO's mission and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education). This role requires a high degree of professionalism and a commitment to UNESCO's core values.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for undertaking specific assignments within the Education Sector, contributing to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects and initiatives. This includes developing and delivering key outputs and deliverables as outlined in the terms of reference. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and potentially external stakeholders to ensure alignment with UNESCO's strategic objectives. The consultant will be expected to provide expert advice, conduct research, and contribute to knowledge sharing and capacity building efforts. Work Experience

A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is required. Experience in the education sector, particularly in international development or within UN agencies, is highly desirable. Proven track record in delivering on project objectives and managing complex tasks is essential.
