Job Purpose
This consultancy focuses on tutoring the "Foundations of Disability-Inclusive Education Sector Planning" course, delivered in English, French, and Portuguese via the My IIEP platform. The course targets education policy planners, statisticians, and representatives from Ministries, OPDs, and Civil Society Organizations across eight West African countries. The tutor is crucial for ensuring the smooth technical, pedagogical, and organizational functioning of the course. This role involves managing live sessions, multilingual communications, participant monitoring, and providing disability-inclusive support. The tutor will proactively identify and address accessibility barriers, offer individualized support to participants with disabilities, and ensure their full engagement and successful completion of the training. Serving as the central point of coordination, the tutor will ensure timely delivery of announcements, assessments, and technical assistance, upholding IIEP-UNESCO's commitment to quality and inclusivity in training.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide technical assistance and support for the "Foundations of Disability-Inclusive Education Sector Planning" course, cohort 3. Key responsibilities include managing live sessions by uploading announcements, drafting messages in three languages, providing technical and language assistance during sessions, and compiling participation data. The consultant will also administer Moodle communications, drafting announcements, managing Q&A and technical assistance forums, and monitoring dedicated training emails. Participant follow-up involves managing the assessment grid, tracking activity completion and grades, providing individualized support to participants with disabilities, and liaising with the course team to identify and support at-risk participants. The consultant will also develop a comprehensive support plan for participants with disabilities. Furthermore, the role includes monitoring and evaluation tasks, such as presenting weekly reports, drafting post-course evaluation reports, and administering surveys. The consultant will create and maintain a Master List of participants, regularly updating it and managing participant status. Finally, the consultant will support the Community of Practice "Disability-Inclusive Education Sector Planning" by revising Portuguese-language documents for publication, ensuring linguistic accuracy and professionalism.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in online learning or capacity development projects is necessary. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in managing multilingual communication and participant support for international training programs, including those with participants from low- and middle-income countries, is required. Proven experience in designing, facilitating, or supporting online and blended learning programs, along with experience working with international organizations, is also essential.
Skills
Essential skills include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, cultural sensitivity, and excellent time management. Proficiency in English, French, and Portuguese (written and oral) is mandatory. Technical skills encompass strong project coordination, LMS platform management (e.g., Moodle), and familiarity with collaboration tools.
