Job Purpose
This role supports the national process for developing roadmaps and technical inputs for reporting Indicators 10.1 and 22.1 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The specialist will provide technical assistance to UNESCO and the Ministry of Environment in Peru, focusing on the analysis, processing, and systematization of information required for Indicator 10.1 reporting. Additionally, the position will support the management and implementation of the 'Women for Bees' project, contributing to biodiversity conservation efforts and the promotion of sustainable practices.
Responsibilities
Provide specialized technical assistance to UNESCO and the Ministry of Environment for developing national roadmaps for reporting Indicators 10.1 and 22.1 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Analyze, process, and systematize information for Indicator 10.1 reporting, preparing technical inputs and specialized documents. Support the management and implementation of the 'Women for Bees' project. Key tasks include reviewing technical resources from the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and FAO, identifying and analyzing available data sources, assessing methodological viability for sub-indicators, and processing information for prioritized sub-indicators. Consolidate technical information to draft national roadmaps, prepare inputs for coordination meetings, and develop technical documents. Monitor the progress of the 'Women for Bees' project, manage information for its visibility, and ensure the project's web page and social media are updated.
Work Experience
Three years of experience in projects related to biodiversity conservation, natural ecosystems, or environmental safeguards. Five years of experience in geographic data analysis or GIS, and environmental methodologies with governmental entities or NGOs. Experience in managing and coordinating environmental or risk management projects. Proficiency in handling and analyzing geospatial information in various formats.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to synthesize and analyze information. Report writing skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google tools, and Outlook.
